ABOUT ARTWORK
Catharsis is a new work that surrounds its audience with a 3D scanned forest. In this immersive installation, the time of the sun, leaves, water, and mists follow individual patterns, creating a rhythmic world where time and place take new forms. Operating across a number of human and planetary timescales, Catharsis slows time to provoke a universalizing sense of calm. Temporality itself loops into the experience, twisting and turning across nine screens arranged in a circular configuration that mimics the sacral format of ancient ritual sites such as Stonehenge.
